Balicasag is an almost circular island with a typical Maldives character. Crystal clear waters and a snow white beach surround the island. Balicasag has a diameter of about 600 Meters and lies about 20 minutes by boat from Alona Beach.
Just like in the Maldives, the island has only one bungalow resort with about 20 simple bungalows in native style. You can walk around the island in about 30 to 40 Minutes. Beside the resort, there are about 100 indigenous families living on the island.
Balicasag is especially popular for divers. Dive boats from Alona Beach come here every day for one or two dives to enjoy the breathtaking wall dives around Balicasag Island. The reef is about 50 Meters from the beach and falls straight down to about 50 Meters. There are a few caves and caverns under water and a huge forest of black corals.
